As part of SUNY's five-year technology plan, SUNY Administration developed an online time and attendance system (TAS) for campuses to implement and replace existing paper time and attendance records for unclassified, non-hourly employees. At Buffalo State, the President's Office and all vice president area professionals use the system.
Effective September 2014, faculty will begin using the online TAS to record their attendance and submit the record on a monthly basis (UUP Article § 23.9) during the academic year obligation:
Your first record (September) is due by October 10, 2014.
If the record is not submitted by the 10th day of the following month, you will receive e-mail reminders until the record is submitted.
Please do not submit a monthly record before the month is completed.
We hope you will find the new online time and attendance system to be easier and more efficient than the current paper system. Benefits to the online system include: accessible through SUNY website via Buffalo State NT username and password; paperless, electronic records eliminating paper, printing, and storage space expenses; employee and supervisor self-service for accrual balances and attendance history; e-mail reminders when applicable; electronically request time off (optional); printer friendly version of attendance record (optional).
To orient you to the online system, we created various training guides and resources for self-training, available at http://hr.buffalostate.edu/attendance-records-unclassified. A one-page Faculty Quick Guide is available at http://hr.buffalostate.edu/sites/hr.buffalostate.edu/files/uploads/Documents/tas_faculty_quick_guide.pdf. If you are prompted for your SUNY ID, please contact your department secretary or dean's office. This is a one-time need for some users.
We are offering a preview of the system and will be available to address questions on the following dates/times. If you wish to attend an optional session, please e-mail Kathy Fortune with the session number.
