Effective staff development is a continuously active collaboration between supervisors and staff. Supervisors are responsible for guiding and supporting the professional development of their staff by offering learning opportunities, creating professional development protocols, and providing coaching and feedback. To assist supervisors in providing such opportunities for staff, Buffalo State offers programs and resources that can help staff enhance their work-related skills. Staff also share in the responsibility for their own development and should speak with their supervisor about taking advantage of available resources for personal and professional growth.
