Professional Development Center
Collaboratively fosters and supports holistic professional development through workshops and trainings by developing new skills, staying current on trends, supporting mental and emotional well-being, and encouraging continuous learning and improvement.
The Professional Development Center designs, facilitates, and coordinates opportunities for staff, faculty, administrators, institutional units, and campus constituent groups to enhance personal, professional, leadership, and work team effectiveness. We provide opportunities for individuals and teams to learn, develop, problem solve, innovate, and collaborate to support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the campus community.

Purpose:
The Administrative Staff Working Group (ASWG) was created in 2017, and is a collaborative, cross-divisional, and cross-level community of support staff dedicated to promoting campus-wide efficiencies, increased institutional knowledge, and collective professional development opportunities. As a diverse representation of the campus community, the ASWG members serve as a stakeholder in the implementation of campus-wide practices. The ASWG can be consulted during the proposal stage of new technologies, policies, and procedures affecting cross-divisional operations to ensure the effective implementation of these initiatives.
Benefits to the College:
- Help onboard support staff to access tools, resources, and network with likeminded professionals
- Help build/retain institutional memory/knowledge
- Members have an opportunity to grow, develop, and learn from one another through the process of sharing information and experiences with the group
- Provide diverse group of professionals to help create buy-in and assess new initiatives affecting the operational tasks of campus
- Increase retention and job satisfaction by providing space for support, growth, and development
